Chandrababu Naidu has been staying since bifurcation, on June 2. The judge reserved the verdict after hearing both parties on Wednesday. It may be noted that the CID issued a notice for attaching the said property in accordance with the provisions of Criminal Law (Amendment) Ordinance of 1944 on the ground that the guesthouse had been reportedly given to the former Chief Minister on a free of cost basis in alleged exchange for certain benefits that accrued to its owner, Lingamaneni Ramesh, and his relatives in the alignment of capital city designs. The State Home Department ordered the CID to attach the guesthouse, which is located on the Krishna river banks at Undavalli, on May 12 to prevent its disposal or the creation of any encumbrance. 🤍

Arrested last November – Bail in May In the charge sheet registered earlier, the enforcement has alleged that Sarath Chandra Reddy has acquired 30 percent of the shops in Delhi’s liquor business. It alleged that Sarath Chandra Reddy was the biggest partner in the liquor syndicates formed under the name of South Group. It is said that he owns thirty percent of the business in the Delhi Liquor Scam. In its report, the ED has also said that attempts were made to destroy the information contained in the digital servers to avoid finding evidence of the entire affair. Key Developments in Liquor Scam After Becoming an Approver Sarath Chandra Reddy, who has been in jail since last November, was granted bail by the Delhi High Court on May 8. He requested the Delhi High Court to grant regular bail as his wife was ill. The Delhi High Court considered Sarath Chandra Reddy’s plea. Bail granted. Sarath Chandra Reddy was the only one among those arrested in the Delhi liquor scam who got bail. The rest are in jail. 🤍

Number of Rs 500 fake currency notes rose by 14.6 per cent: RBI The number of counterfeit currency notes of Rs 500 denomination detected by the banking system, rose by 14.6 per cent to 91,110 pieces in 2022-23 compared to last year New Delhi/Chennai: The number of counterfeit currency notes of Rs 500 denomination detected by the banking system, rose by 14.6 per cent to 91,110 pieces in 2022-23 compared to last year, according to the Reserve Bank of India‘s annual report released on Tuesday. At the same time, the number of counterfeit notes of Rs 2,000 denomination detected by the system, fell by 28 per cent to 9,806 pieces during the same period. Although the total number of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICNs) detected in the banking sector declined to 2,25,769 pieces in 2022-23 from 2,30,971 pieces in the previous fiscal year, it is noteworthy that it had surged in 2021-22. The RBI’s annual report also highlighted an 8.4 per cent rise in counterfeit notes detected in the denomination of Rs 20, and a 14.4 per cent increase in Rs 500 (new design) denomination. On the other hand, counterfeit notes detected in Rs 10, Rs 100, and Rs 2,000 denominations fell by 11.6 per cent, 14.7 per cent, and 27.9 per cent, respectively. 🤍

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains India's most popular leader and the leading choice for the country's top job, reveals "Public Opinion", a special NDTV survey in partnership with Lokniti-Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS). The survey sought to assess the public mood as PM Modi completes nine years in power this month and preps for a series of elections including the Lok Sabha polls next year. It was conducted across 19 states between May 10 and 19, just after the Karnataka election in which the ruling BJP lost to the Congress. Despite the loss in Karnataka, the good news for the BJP is that PM Modi's popularity remains strong and the party's vote share remains steady. Around 43% of the respondents say the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) should win a third straight term, while 38% disagree. Nearly 40% say they would vote the BJP if elections were held today. The Congress gets 29% of the votes. 🤍
