After my brakes were changed by a mechanic, these lights turned on. It was the speed sensor that was pinched. After unplugging and plugging back in the speed sensor and clearing the lights, I have not had any problems. This video will show you how to fix lights on your dash. Others have used a paper clip as the jumper. Any wire with a small enough gauge would lead to similar results. After trying to bleed the brakes the lights still stayed on and was about to change the ABS actuator but later found out that the issue was the Skid control.

How To Silence the ABS VSC Failure Alarm Prius Gen2 - How I use a DTC reader to restore power brakes. Blog Post 🤍 Use a code reader to check DTC activity, 🤍 My Gen 2 Prius has an internal pressure leak in the ABS VSC system. It's not a red triangle incident quite. When the booster pressure falls low enough three lights come on. The Brake Warning light, the ABS light and the VSC light. For bigger problems you will get an alarm buzzer ringing. In my case there is no change in braking at this warning stage. Then it can, after as many as 15 miles drive time or much longer if ever this next thing happens. Thee alarm comes on and you lose power brakes. That first time you apply them the pedal may feel very squishy and weak braking. You basically have been reduced to manual brakes instead of power brakes. You have to be sure to not panic. Drive cautiously and give cars 4 car spaces between them and you. Then pull your ass over and try this fix. To do this you'll need a standard DTC code reader. Like this one I used in this video, 🤍 or this style of DTC code reader 🤍 How to restore power brakes in a Prius Gen II When your power brakes soft fail, leaving you with manual brakes. Also turn off the ABS VSC lights and silence the alarm. Procedure: Park Prius on level ground. Leave space in front in case you must tow it. Turn the car off and remove the key. Wait for any sounds to cease. Plug the key back in, press the brakes and press START. You will see the VSC ABS lights come on and hear the Prius ABS VSC Failure Alarm. Sometimes it stops on its own so wait on it for 45 seconds or so. Now plug in the DTC code reader into the data port under the dashboard. The DTC code reader will read the engine codes first as it wakes up. You don't have an engine problem, so this information doesn't matter right now. Press the lower left key, (or wherever i button is) for reading brake system codes. In this video the DTC brake codes that displayed were code C1252 and C1256. Erase code C1256 It will erase then read the codes and should return a no code result. Now the ABS VSC lights on the dash will go out and the alarm will stop. Repeat as needed while you save up for an ABS system replacement job costing $4000 at a Toyota dealership. Nach einmal bremsen ging das VSC (ESP) und ABS in betrieb, anschliessend blieben die Anzeigeleuchten dauerhaft aktiviert. Das VSC und ABS funktionniert seit dem gar nicht mehr. Es handelt sich dabei um ein Prius II EZ 2006. Die Sache ist ärgerlich das nach einmal starkem bremsen plötzlich solche Sicherheitsrelevanten Funktionen ausfallen!

I’ve also got three same exact warring messages displayed on the information screen: check Vehicle Stability Control system, check Brake system, and check ABS system. It was also saying “Have your vehicle checked by a dealer” on the bottom of the screen. My car was still driving and braking fine, so I didn’t know exactly what was going on. I definitely wanted to find the source of the problem. From my previous experience, I know that a visit to a dealer would cost me around $100-150. For the same money or less you can buy a scanner tool and try to diagnose the issue yourself. Chances are you might be able to fix some of the car issues yourself if you just do a little research. In my case, for example, all three warning lights were triggered by a bad stop light bulb. In Toyota, Lexus and Scion cars VSC, ABS and brake systems are tied together. For that reason, if any component of these three systems goes bad, all three warning lights are triggered. I was lucky to have just a minor issue with a bad bulb. You may have a completely different problem that requires more serious work, and to determine the source of the issue you will need a diagnostic tool capable of reading those diagnostic trouble codes. Uh oh...this clean 2010 Toyota Prius with 230k miles has a weird ABS system FAILURE. No codes set, but the booster assist pump keeps cycling every 15-30 seconds. Sounds like there is an internal LEAK inside the fancy "ABS Brake Booster Stroke Simulator Module" assembly. To repair this issue costs an arm and a leg... Oh, and you NEED an OEM-level scanner to perform the ultra-complicated brake bleeding procedure. Do Hybrids really save you money in the long run??
