#afrolatinmusic Tras un año y medio de conciertos por todo el mundo, el Buena Vista Social Club culminará su Adios Tour, con dos grandes conciertos en el teatro Karl Marx de la capital Cubana, anunció el grupo. Según uno de los fundadores de la alineación, el laudista Barbarito Torres, este será un nuevo show, donde incluirán temas poco conocidos del repertorio y también, los icónicos de siempre, como El cuarto de Tula, Dos gardenias, Candela, y el Chan Chan. La cantante Omara Portuondo confesó que no hubiera querido terminar nunca su trabajo con la agrupación, la cual le permitió llevar las sonoridades tradicionales de Cuba por los cinco continentes. “Pudimos constatar que al mundo le gusta nuestra música”, dijo la Diva del Buena Vista Social Club. Precisamente, porque la mayoría de las presentaciones fueron en otros países, decidimos cerrar en Cuba la gira de despedida de los escenarios, precisó. A juicio del guitarrista Eliades Ochoa, aunque el grupo no tuvo aquí la promoción con que cuenta en otros lugares, esperamos encontrar en el público la misma gran respuesta de otras latitudes. El Buena Vista Social Club se ha convertido en un mito y su legado se mantendrá en el tiempo porque el mundo no quiere que se acabe, dijo. “Debíamos terminar el Adios Tour en Cuba pues qué mejor lugar si no para hacerlo”. Para el “Guajiro” Mirabal, el Buena Vista Social Club no se acabará nunca, además “saber que hemos hecho un buen trabajo nos permite retirarnos con alegría”. Este trompetista cubano también ofreció detalles de la película rodada como parte del Adios Tour, la cual profundiza también en la trayectoria de cada uno de los miembros del grupo. Durante los conciertos en el Karl Marx, hoy 14 y mañana15 de mayo, se presentarán imágenes y videos para recordar a aquellos músicos como Ibrahim Ferrer que fueron fundadores del proyecto, pero ya no están. Desde sus inicios, el Buena Vista logró imponerse en el gusto de diversas generaciones en la escena nacional y foránea. Conformado en su mayoría por veteranos músicos de la isla caribeña, defensores a ultranza del son, el bolero, el danzón y la salsa, el proyecto reúne desde 1996 a prestigiosos cultores de los ritmos tradicionales cubanos, sobre todo aquellos de las décadas de 1930 a 1950.
