The level of detailing you see when having him in hand is just amazing and at first you kinda doubt your own eyes as its as if he has come alive in your very display room. He has such an aura of presence, of command that you feel yourself transported back in time to those horrible bloodthirsty wars, where limbs and heads were hacked off as if it was par for the course, you can imagine the fear and or the courage to stand and face down an overwhelming force with just the power of the Legions Phalanx and the skill of your commanders to help win the day, the Phalanx was the primary fighting formation of the roman army inspired by Hellenistic soldiers, namely the Spartans although they were not the founders of such tactics, it was the Greek Hoplites who came up with this fantastic formation. Back to this piece though, as I was saying you can pose him in a certain way and or whilst posing him easily envisage the drama that played out in every battle, wherein each day was your last, as I'm sure the roman legions felt with every battle drawing near, the high of the day coming when you realised that you had made it out the other side. This Roman General did exist in real life but sadly his life didn't have half the glory and adventure that the General in the movie did but still makes for a fantastic piece and a great conversation starter at any dinner party. Finally got the 2 ACI Roman General clothing and armor sets to complete my Maximus figure. Took me a long and stressful time to assemble but it was totally worth it! Easily one of the best figures I own!
